DIRECT INDIRECT SENTENCES

1. Adnan and Hira said to their mother, “we like mangoes.”
Ans. Adnan and Hira told their mother that they liked mangoes.
2. She said, they are not doing their duty well”.
Ans. She said that they were not doing their duty well.
3. He said, “I am unwell.”
Ans. He said that he was not well.
4. She said, “They have not eaten their meals.”
Ans. She said that they had not eaten their meals.
5. He said, “She sang beautiful song at the concert last night.”
Ans. He said that she had sung a beautiful song at the concert the previous night.
6. She said, “I shall never do such a thing.”
Ans. She said that she would never do such a thing.
7. He said, “I shall explain this to you listen to me with patience.”
Ans. He said that he would explain that to me only if I listened to him with patience.
8. My brother said to me, “you have missed the point completely.”
Ans. My brother told me that I had missed the point completely.
9. She said, “I like clouds in the sky.”
Ans. She said that she liked clouds in the sky.
10. She said, “I am helping my mother in the kitchen.”
Ans. She said that she was helping her mother in the kitchen.
11. He said, “I hope you will not repeat this mistake.”
Ans. He told that he hope I will not repeat this mistake. / He expected that I will not repeat this mistake.
12. He said, “What do you want me to do?”
Ans. He asked what I wanted him to do.
13. The pupil said, “Who is next on list?”
Ans. The pupil asked where he had had eased.
14. The teacher asked, “who was the next on list.”
Ans. The teacher asked who was the next on list.
15. Raza said, “Where are you going?”
Ans. Raza asked where I was going?
16. The teacher said, “Who is the author of this book?”
Ans. The teacher asked who was the author of that book?
17. The boy said, “What do you want me today?”
Ans. The boy asked what I wanted him to do?
18. They said, “Our teacher is on leave.”
Ans. They said that their teacher was on leave.
19. The student said to his teacher, “Forgive me Sir.”
Ans. The student requested his teacher to forgive him.
20. The tourist said, “How high the mountain is?”
Ans. The tourist exclaimed with wonder that the mountain was very high.
21. He said to stranger, “Who are you?”
Ans. He said the stranger who he was?
22. He said to me, “You are not running very fast.”
Ans. He told me that I was not running very fast.
23. He said, “I am watering the plants in the garden.”
Ans. He said that he was watering the plants in the garden.
24. The teacher said, “I have often told us not to play with fire.”
Ans. The teacher said that they had often told me not to play with fire.
25. She said, “I shall never do such a thing.”
Ans. She said that she would never do such a thing.
